Misi for City Council

My name is Misi Tagaloa, and I'm running for Long Beach City Council, District 1.

About 50,000 people live in District 1. Only 13,000 are registered voters; 7,000 voted in the November election; and only 2,100 regularly vote in special elections.

These numbers mean that we in the 1st District have a government of the people, for the people, and by only a few.My campaign is all about empowering people to be heard -- our youth and seniors, our veterans, teachers, and public safety officers, our small business owners and stay-at-home moms and dads, our new immigrants and longtime residents, our special needs community, our LGBT community, our international community, our homeless community.

Everyone, from every walk of life, deserves a place at the table, an equal opportunity to be heard.

    Hi, this is Misi Tagaloa.  I would like to wish you a Happy holiday season; from my family to yours, MELE KALIKIMAKA.

    I want to invite you to a Coalition that is forming to Elect me to the Long Beach City Council.  We’re meeting at City Hall on Monday December 29 at 9:30 in the morning. 

    City Hall is located at : 333 W. Ocean Blvd

    Downtown Long Beach.

     

    You will be attending as my guest on the Coalition, so please ask for Ron Yates or Val Jacobo to get the necessary pass into the meeting.

    One of the reasons why I’m running for City Council is because we have not had proper representation.  In a district with over 50,000 people, only 4% of the residents elect our councilperson at any given election cycle. 

    I would like to change that and I am inviting you to help me do it.  When you come out to City Hall, I will share with you my vision for an interactive District 1 and how you can be a part of that vision.
